HOF Topside
(Spinning Top X Asteroid by Secretariat)
1995 Bay Thoroughbred Stallion
C&H Ranch
Horses Forever
Conditions: I would like the foal to remain at least three years younger than my stallion for realism purposes. I do not retain buy-backs or rights on ASBA foals. Please send the foal's basic information to me when it is decided so I can include it in my stallion's progeny list.

HOF Topside was a great racehorse, and an even greater show horse. Greater still, he has been in the lines of more HF Triple Crown Contenders than any other stallion in HF. He has very popular over the years since 1998; he has sired well over 100 foals! Even though we've cut back on his breeding, in 2011 alone he was a top sire for the Triple Crown and Breeder's Cup contenders. This Olympic competitor has a great standing in HF, and is one of the longest standing stallions here. A horse could not be MORE proven as a sire as he is, across the board and with multiple breeds, so choosing him as the sire of your foal is a sure bet. Topside was also approved with a FOURTH PLACE in the 2011 Oldenburg Registry inspection!
------------------------------------------------
C&H Ranch is proud to stand a stallion of HOF Topside's calibre. He has proven to be everything we have hoped for in a Thoroughbred stallion and more. Topside's final percent was 9.1 (91%) and earned the predicate "ELITE" (*E) in the Professional Stallion Evaluations, which is about as good as a horse can earn! He scored well in every catergory.
BACKGROUND
HOF Topside was adopted from the Horses Forever Humane Society in C&H Ranch's early years. We were looking for a nice Thoroughbred stallion to race, show, and breed, and we came across him. He was emaciated, limping, and sore, obviously neglected and abused. We felt very sorry for him, and even though we weren't sure if he was a performance horse, we adopted him on a whim. He endured many hours of physical therapy and rehabilitation, which included equine acupunture, chiropractic care, and hydrotherapy. Eventually an amazingly handsome and healthy horse emerged from what was. He then showed us he was ready to perform, and hasn't looked back since.
THE SHOW HORSE
Retired from racing in the beginning of 2003, Topside left nothing lacking in his career. He immediately embarked on an outstanding career in jumping, dressage, and cross country. He earned the 2004 TBHA Championships Grand Prix Dressage CHAMPION and was ninetenth standing in the Olympics jumping division. He has a big heart, and has always given 110% for us. I believe he truly appreciates the second chance at life that we gave him. His manners are impeccable, and has always behaved like a gentleman to humans and horses alike. This attitude is rare for a Thoroughbred, and a stallion to boot, but Topside shows great intelligence and appreciation for the life he is leading today.

THE SIRE
To date, HOF Topside has well over 100 foals on the ground. This is more than ANY horse in HF EVER. He is quite the popular guy; rightly so, as he is even more a successful horse in the breeding shed than the arena. His foals are all athletic and lovely, with great dispositions and versatality. We are very pleased with his half-Thoroughbred siring abilities as well; he passes what is best about him to any foal he sires. As far as a racing sire, you couldn't ask for a better or more proven stallion. No other stallion in HF has been the sire or grandsire of as many Triple Crown contenders as HOF Topside. Some names easily recognizable are Crestfallen CH (X Lavander) with place in 2003 Kentucky Derby, win in 2003 Preakness Stakes, win in 2003 Belmont Stakes, place in Breeder’s Cup Classic; Mr. Brightside CH (X Lumiar WMA+) with 2005 Scottsdale H/A Geldings Top Ten, 2005 Scottsdale H/A Geldings In-Hand RESERVE CHAMPION; WT Zenith (X Gloree) with 2005 HF Kentucky Derby Winner; Top Of The Wonder CH (X HOF Gallant Wonder), Dragonfly CH (X HOF Gallant Wonder); Neptune CH (X Solar Flaire CH); Wonderful CH (X HOF Gallant Wonder) who is one of the top producing broodmares; Craiglathie Haeremon (X Craiglathe Aife); Flash Fire CH (Neptune CH X WT Free Passion) with 2003 Kentucky Derby show, 2003 Belmont Stakes Place, graded stakes winner and cup champion; and so many more.
