We all have that one horse that really stands out to us, sometimes we're lucky enough to own him or her, but sometimes we have to drool from the sidelines as we watch another stable compete and breed them. Xzibit is one such horse for me. I remember the first time I saw him, Megan had offered him up to limited stud in All Sim. At the time I had a modest show string, adn had a few racers. Xzibit's conquerering success on the track was his first point of attraction, but that he was a dilute was a close second. Beyond that I'm not sure what exactly attracted me SO much to this horse. I knew I really wanted a foal by him, and Megan was kind enough to allow me a breeding. CI Phoenix Show was the resulting filly, and she inherited her sire's dilution. She didn't claim as much success as her sire, but she was the first step toward a slew of Xzibit foals in my ownership. 2011 was the year Phoenix was born, and since then I've either obtained or bred five offspring from Xzibit, and have even gone so far as to get my grubby paws on his sire, Platinum.
While Xzibit has played a big part on my own personal herd, he's also impacted several studbooks and breeding plans in HF as well as Allsim. In my opinion he's a fantastic horse, but his approvals for hard to enter studbooks makes that opinion a fact. Most recently he was awarded a Premium score in the Tynec Registry, and most of you will be unsurprised to hear he's already been put to good use in the breeding program. He has also been instrumental in the Keystone breeding program and has produced a few fantastic, gorgeous double dilutes.
Xzibit will always be a horse close to my heart, and I consider myself very lucky to have so many of his fantastic offspring. Megan has done wonderful things with him, and I cannot wait to watch his future, as well as his offspring's future. Three cheers for Xzibit!
(no surprise my biggest tribute goes to Xzibit lol)
